The Process

Please email or call me if you are interested in my Doula Services.

From there, we’ll schedule a time to meet in person. This gives each of us an idea of how well we’re matched. During this initial visit, you can find out all you ever wanted to know about me and I’ll get to know you more. I’ll leave my contract with you to allow you all the time you need to make your decision.

Should you choose to work with me, you’ll receive:

Two prenatal visits
During these visits, we’ll get to know each other more, discuss your fears and hopes, practice coping with contractions, learn about your baby’s position and address any issues. These meetings look different for every couple I work with.  They are tailored to your individual needs, with the intention of filling any gaps in your preparation.

Unlimited phone and email contact
Any questions, concerns or conversation you need – I’m here for it.

On call status
Beginning three weeks before your due date until baby is born. During this time I will not travel far from home or turn my phone off. I will strive for order and restfulness in my life to be best prepared for your labor.

Continuous presence at your labor
I will arrive as soon as you feel you need me, whether this is while you’re laboring at home or at the hospital. I will stay until everyone is stable, usually a couple hours after the birth. I can also assist with initial breastfeeding if there is not qualified staff available immediately after birth.

A postpartum visit
This occurs within two weeks of baby’s birth, to allow you time to adjust and assimilate your own experience outside of my version. During this meeting, we can revisit your birth experience and also talk about how things are going with a new baby.

Also
You may have access to my lending library. I can also provide you with referrals to other services you are interested in (postpartum doulas, chiropractors, massage therapists, etc). You can have the peace of mind that I have a sturdy back-up system in the unlikely event that I am unavailable for your labor.

My services are typically paid for by the client. However, insurance companies are beginning to sporadically reimburse claims for Doula Services. I can help you to submit a claim and will contact the insurance company, as well.  My rate is $950 for the services outlined above.  I require a deposit of $250 at the signing of our contract and the remainder is due around your estimated due-date.

Please do not let cost be a factor in deciding whether or not to hire a doula.  If I am unable to work with you, at the very least I can help you get connected with someone who can accommodate your needs.
